OPPORTUNITIES DESCRIPTION Construction Service for Project No. 662-23-101, Renovate ICU to Airborne Infection Isolation Standards. This is a pre-solicitation announcement only. Solicitation documents will be available on or about November 22, 2024. The solicitation will contain all necessary proposal instruction. Proposals will only be requested and accepted from contractors who were awarded a Veterans Integrated Service Network 21 (VISN 21) Multiple-Award Construction Contract (MACC) Group 2 from Network Contracting Office 21 (NCO 21). The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, and the small business size standard is $45M. In Accordance With (IAW) VAAR 836.204 Disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects is anticipated between $10,000,000.00 and $20,000,000.00. Questions regarding this pre-solicitation must be sent in writing to christopher.whipple@va.gov The San Francisco VA Medical Center requires the services of a qualified General Contractor to construct Project 662-23-101, Renovate ICU to Airborne Infection Isolation Standards. The general scope of this requirement is to construct via extensive renovation a modern Intensive Care Unit comprising 10 patient rooms with surge capacity to 12. Four rooms that are dedicated Airborne Infection Isolation and two that are configurable, allowing for a maximum of eight such patients within the Unit. The nature and requirements of this construction are fully exhibited in the attached Construction Documents which include complete drawings and specifications. The area of construction is located within the main hospital in Building 203 with area of work entirely on the 3rd floor B-Wing; effectively the east side of the building on the top floor. Infrastructure work extends beyond the normal areas of work to accommodate work to utility systems. Special care is to be taken as related to impact surrounding clinical areas, most significantly 2nd floor, and utility outages with impact to patients in occupied areas. Noise, vibration, and dust control should be expected to be heavily managed with limitations strictly coordinated. For purposes if pricing, total labor effort should be assumed to comprise roughly 30% of labor outside of normal business hours. Work must include, but not limited to the following: The Contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, administrative support, and any necessary professional engineering services required for the construction to complete the ICU Renovation Project, IAW the Statement of Work (SOW). The duration of this project is approximately 420 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued.
