Virginia Class Propulsor – Most Aggressive Feature (MAF) Follow-On
Notice ID: N0016724R0023

NSWCCD intends to use other than full and open competition to award a Cost-Plus Incentive-Fee (CPIF) contract to Collins Aerospace. The contractual actions outlined within this Justification and Approval (J&A) will provide the material, manufacturing, assembly, and delivery for IAH MAF. The purpose of this notice is solely for announcement of the Synopsis. This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations.

The U.S. Navy has fielded an Improved Advanced Hybrid (IAH) Propulsor on a VIRGINIA Class Submarine (VCS). The performance of the IAH warrants the construction of additional IAH Propulsors for installation on future new construction, or backfit, VCS hulls. Part of the IAH Propulsor includes production of the Most Aggressive Feature (MAF) that has considerable long-lead time material (LLTM) associated with its production. This Statement of Work (SOW) is for the procurement of IAH Propulsor MAF, as well as shipping installation fixtures, installation support, and associated engineering services for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division.
