NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE ORDER. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Pacific Region Office (PRO), intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Braun-Ayers Industries, Inc., a Non-Indian Owned Small Business, for repair services to a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe. This action is being taken under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), which permits solicitation from a single source when the contracting officer determines that only one source is reasonably available due to the circumstances of the contract action. Braun-Ayers Industries, Inc. was originally selected after multiple quotes were solicited and evaluated. The initial repair estimate fell within the threshold for payment via Government Fleet Card. However, during the repair process, additional damage was discovered that was not visible during the initial inspection. This is a common occurrence in vehicle repairs, as hidden damage often becomes apparent only after disassembly. The newly identified damage requires additional parts and labor, increasing the total cost beyond the Fleet Card threshold and necessitating issuance of a formal purchase order. Braun-Ayers Industries, Inc. is the only responsible source capable of completing the repairs without compromising the integrity of the work already performed.
