REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR INFRASTRUCTURE AND OBSTACLE LOCALIZATION AND MONITORING FOR UNCREWED VEHICLES
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is seeking information on capabilities for localizing and monitoring seabed infrastructure using uncrewed underwater vehicles (UUVs) and uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs).
Description
NSWC PCD is seeking information on sensing and automatic target recognition (ATR) capabilities for detecting, localizing, avoiding and monitoring seabed infrastructure and seabed and water column obstacles using UUVs and USVs. Sensing technologies of interest are capable of observing proud, partially buried, and buried seabed infrastructure (such as cabling, pipes, minelike objects, and other manmade infrastructure) or obstacles (such as nets, boulders, wrecks, and other objects in the water column) that can be mounted on UUVs and USVs ranging in size from man-portable to large diameter vehicles. Corresponding ATR technologies of interest are able to detect, classify, identify, and/or localize seabed infrastructure and obstacles within sensor observations (raw or processed) that can be run in real time without an operator in the loop.
Technologies capable of externally monitoring the status of seabed infrastructure without having direct contact or access to the infrastructure (such as automatically assessing damage or changes in infrastructure via acoustic, visual, magnetic, or other sensing mechanisms) over an extended time period involving multiple UUV or USV missions in an area are also of interest.
The applicable PSC code is 5865. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 334511. Size Standard is 1350 employees.
